| Istra Zivot, meaning Istria Life, was started in 2003 by an English couple Nigel Simpson and Sue Ramsden. We remain the owners and directors.

We started our first full season at the beginning of 2006 when our own house Hiza Suzanna had been fully renovated. By this time we had made many friends in Istria, some of whom also had apartments they wanted to rent out for holidays. Since we had become licensed as a tourist agency we chose a select few locally and started to advertise "Rural holidays in Istria" The first two years showed a dramatic increase in interest, especially with the introduction of flights from England and Scotland in to Pula airport. In fact 2006 was a successful first year and all the apartment owners were satisfied with their bookings. 2007 saw the number of bookings more than double! |
2008 was also a successful year and we decided to employ a local Istrian from our village "Đana" (pronounced jarna) to help with all the office work and to enable us to expand and continue the high level of customer service that we supply. We had been asked by many apartment and villa owners, locally, to be their agent because they have heard how successful we have been with bookings up till now. For 2009 we increased the numbers of apartments and villas available for holidays in our local Barban and Krnica areas to 18 in order to satisfy the demand that we had from our customers. It has been very interesting to see an unexpectedly high increase in the numbers of European, American and Australian customers to us. |

We have built a company which really looks after the customer. We have built up an extensive knowledge of the region and many contacts for excursions, great places to go, things to do and so on. We thrive on customer satisfaction and feel that our company and Istria have the essential ingredients needed to supply a really memorable holiday.

We are now in the process of designing and building a fantastic
adventure park right here in the district of Barban, Istria.
Our plan is to excite and entertain tourists with great things to do
for all visitors; dish up local cuisine and drinks, provide
facilities not yet found anywhere in Istria. This really will be new
and much needed entertainment in the heart of Istria. So, come and holiday with us in Kod Tereza or, locally, with GSO Holidays, come and say hello to Iskra - the friendliest dog we know - even join us for fantastic walks through the forest or across the fields.
