Nigel met us at the airport and having him arrange our car rental (we can certainly recommend you go through them)we were taken to our apartment. We had chosen apartment Dorina and can honestly say we were not disappointed in any way. Dorina and her family live above and are on hand to give help.We found them to be very hospitable and helpful They both speak english so we found communication no problem.
Croatia is so beautiful and unspoilt and there are so many places to recommend.
Here are a few.
Pula for it architecture and shops
Rabac for it's quaintness
Brunji the summer home for Tito
Porec for it's Cathedral and stunning streets and shops
Go visit the caves in Slovenia a little drive but so worth it.
The National Park at Cape Kamanjak is breathtaking and we swam here in May.
Just ask Nigel and Sue to recommend places they love to help and finally ask them to orgainse quad bikes We had a blast on them. May was a good time to go as the flowers were in abundance.
We had a fantastic holiday in a country we didn't know much about. We met with nothing but friendliness everywhere we went and can say without doubt that Nigel and Sue are the best hosts we have encountered.
If you want a holiday that is restful or with a taste of adventure then this country and Istria is for you. We are coming back next year so we can do the things we never had time for including horse riding and visiting Venice which is possible from here. |

The first impression was above all our expectations. Sue and Nygel truly welcomed us as soon as we got out of our car. The facilities are great, the house has been renovated with taste and everything we needed was available, even fans in the bedrooms, considering the hot temperature we had during that journey.
Our hosts were also fantastic guides to help us find the nicest places around and discover local wine and food. They were present when needed but never over doing it.
If you want to visit that fantastic area of Croatia, this is the place to stay. |

Janice and I have recently returned from our 4th holiday in Istria organised by Istra Zivot.
We really feel like part of Glavani village life now and all of the neighbours and restaurant proprieters greet us like old friends.
I thoroughly recommend sailing on Ennio's boat,quad-biking and go-karting. Would have had a go at tandem para-gliding but there was no wind. Never mind I may be able to cross it off the "bucket list" next year because we are definitely going again.
Recommend using Manuel's Car Hire (through Istra Zivot) for excellent rates and service.
See you next year Sue & Nigel. Maybe the pups that are left won't be such a handfull by then. |

We have, sadly, just returned from a most fantastic week in Istria. From greeting us at the airport to the final farewell coffees at the airport, Nigel (unfortunately, no Sue as she was in England) was the most fantastic host. We spent the week travelling (on Nigel's recommendations) to beautiful spots; the deserted villages (result of the plague), recently opened caves (really amazing!) and lovely beaches. We would never have visited such places without an insider knowledge of this truly lovely country.Forget 'Lonely Planet'!
I and my five children stayed in Hiza Susanna; a superbly equipped and comfortable house. So, during those April showers (we were rather unlucky with the weather), many a happy hour was spent playing murder in the dark or going out with Nigel and Istra the dog (who had just had some gorgeous gorgeous puppies).
We ALL rate it 10/10, in terms of quality and experience.....and we will be back.....keep those beers on ice, Nigel!

Nigel & Sue welcomed us at Pula airport, made sure everything was ok with the hire car & took us to their home , & looked after us before taking us to our apartment Ucker in barban when it was ready for us. Nigel showed us around Glivani & made us feel really welcome.
Evelina & her husband Mladin greeted us & welcomed us to their lovely apartment. What a lovely welcome---the fridge was full of essentials to get us going & nicer people you could not wish to meet.
Evelina was a wonderful host so much so that we will be going back to her lovely apartment to see her again & Nigel & Sue who all helped in making our holiday really special. |

Well, it's taken a while to get around to actually entering in the guestbook - but I've finally made it! We had the most amazing time on holiday with Sue and Nigel this summer, we arrived on 22nd August and should have departed on the 29th but loved it so much we stayed until the 1st of September! That pretty much says it all! A huge thank you to Sue and Nigel, for giving us a fantastic holiday, and introducing us to many wonderful people, whom I hope we will manage to stay in touch with. I'm pleased to say we will be back!!! Next year - and we'll book a longer stay next time too!!! Much love to all, and should anyone be looking at the site, thinking "shall we, shan't we?" Go for it! You certainly won't be disappointed! |

Nigel and Sue are THE best hosts you will ever meet. We stayed in a beautiful apartment in Barban for two weeks in July this year. THIS WAS THE BEST HOLIDAY THAT WE HAVE EVER HAD. The warm welcome we received started from the moment our aeroplane touched the tarmac. Nigel and Sue make sure that your experience of Istria is as wonderful as possible. They show you the best places - places that you would never experience on any boring package holiday. You meet the most wonderful local people who are so warm and welcoming. You experience their way of life, their festivals, their cooking. Words really do not do it justice. You have to go there yourself to get a taste of true Istria life. We had two weeks that didn't feel like a holiday at all. We felt like we had lived there, truly lived there ... and going home was an extremely emotional day for all of us and the people we stayed with because we were leaving some wonderful friends behind. We can truly understand why Nigel and Sue have made Istria their home ... to be honest, we're thinking of moving there ourselves after our holiday.
Go to Istria, use Nigel and Sue's holiday apartments ... and you will have the most relaxing, trouble free holiday that you have ever experienced.
Cannot wait to go back.
Thanks Nigel and Sue, we will definitely be seeing you again very soon. Love to the goats ! |

We visited Istra for the 3rd time in June this year, all 3 times arranged through Istra Zivot, 2nd time at Hisa Susannah.
Once again couldn't fault the attention of our hosts or the accommodation facilities.
We are becoming part of the local scene in and around Glavani (and love it).
Thanks once more to Sue & Nigel -
WE'LL BE BACK |
