On October 4th 2008 our friends Sue and Nigel got married in Pula and had their
reception in their home village of Glavani. After five years of living here in Istria they wanted to celebrate their marriage with a proper party and try to include in the wedding and the reception all the fantastic Istrians that have made their life here perfect. With the help of a superb wedding planner - who is now a good friend of theirs - they had a day and night of festivities that their village friends and family will never forget! | |

For this reason we feel that we are in a great
position to introduce
more people to Istrian weddings. Getting married in Istria is a 24
hour event. You won't be leaving for your honeymoon before the
party's started, you'll be lucky to finish the celebrations before 5.00am! People who get married in Istria will enjoy the Istrian ways and traditions. Why? Because they are better! Istrian food, music, festivities and character are even more special when weddings are held. Everyone joins in as though it is their own!

You fly direct to Pula airport on the Tuesday. We collect you and take you to the accommodation arranged for you and your partner and any guests. Then we sit down together and make sure all the preparations and plans are proceeding as we have discussed by phone and email, before transporting you for a three day break of complete relaxation in the world famous "Istarske Toplice" On the Saturday morning we
collect you in a limousine and return you to your accommodation
here, completely relaxed and ready for the day of your lifetime. | |

We have taken care of all your family and guests and your wedding planner is in full control of the next 24 hours. Waiting for you at your accommodation is your hair stylist and
beautician, together with the outfits you will wear for the wedding
and the flowers. Once you are ready, the limousine will collect you and take you to the pre-wedding reception, where you will enjoy an aperitif and food with your guests and photographs and/or video will be taken, all to the background of traditional Istrian Music. It is usual for the wedding to be later in the afternoon so having food and drinks before is a good way to get in to the spirit of the celebrations with all the guests. | |

Half an hour before the actual service, the limousine
will take you on to the Gradska Palaca (Pula Town Hall), all of your
guests following in a pre-arranged coach. The music will come with
you and your guests to take you through the streets to the Gradska
Palaca. During the wedding you will understand all the words because we will have an interpreter there for you. Nigel and Sue were so pleased and touched with how lovely the service and the words were for them. After the service you will have a small drink with the registrar while collecting your marriage certificate. | |

Right next to the Gradska Palaca is the Roman
Temple of Augustus which is a great venue for the immediate
celebrations and photos with all your guests.
With the steps up to the temple providing the perfect photographic grandstand and the sheer drama of Roman architecture as your background this is surely an opportunity not to be missed!

Then you can go taking
even more pictures in front the old
Roman
amphitheatre called by the locals the Arena.
Wouldn't that be great? The sheer scale and beautiful views across the sea make this the most romantic setting for the very best photographs of the newly weds. The bus and your limousine could then, perhaps, drive you all to a beautiful beach location before returning you to the organised venue for the main reception. | |
